Friday 2/29/08

Hello there,
First off, we're talking about robots killing people. This has been inspired by Alex Jones' Thursday show this week when he had Noel Sharkey, Professor of Arificial Intelligence and Robotics at the University of Sheffield, on to talk about robot wars in the not-so-far-off future, with a particular emphasis on the autonomy that these robots will posses. This means that they be active agents themselves; once programmed they will be able to make "choices" on their own, based on a certain amount of parameters that the programmers have determined.
Anyway, scary stuff!

And specifically Doc, one half of our financial team, was speaking on this article specifically about an anti-trust probe; something that is virtually unheard of in our economic climate.

Hello everyone,
First off, we're on a new time slot now! Catch us on MWF from 6-8. That's right, no more silly business, we're prime-time now...yes we're kidding.

We had Sheila on today who has a very informative blog called:

Beat The Chip (beatthechip.blogspot.com)

The blog concentrates on the issue of the Real ID Act and what we can do to stop it. If you'd like to find out more about what you can do to curb/postpone/destroy the Real ID Act, please go to the ACLU's petition.

We'll also be featuring Kirk Watson's amazing interview about his endorsement of Barack Obama and Senator Obama's legislative achievements. Strangely, he has little to say.

Also, check out our fellow PNACer William Kristol and his advice to Hillary: 'use the politics of fear.'

We'll talk about this in-depth on the show, but this article is most certainly worth reading.
Here's the link from the above article to a report from bio-medicine.

Hello everyone,
Ok, going to try to keep this updated from now on...but, first on the list:

Lo' and behold, the Air Force Cyber Command! We've talked numerous times on the subject of internet regulation; which has been encouraged due to the increased threat of "cyber-terrorism" as well intellectual property pirates that wage war against the mulitnational Record-industry giants...

Also, in news, Congressman Silvestre Reyes, Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, sent a letter to President Bush regarding the ongoing battle over warrantless wiretapping. Click here to read more. But here are a couple of the good parts...

"Because I care so deeply about protecting our country, I take strong offense to your suggestion in recent days that the country will be vulnerable to terrorist attack unless Congress immediately enacts legislation giving you broader powers to conduct warrantless surveillance of Americans' communications and provides legal immunity for telecommunications companies that participated in the Administration's warrantless surveillance program."

"I, for one, do not intend to back down – not to the terrorists and not to anyone, including a President, who wants Americans to cower in fear."

Finally. Nice to see someone stand-up to the telecommunications immunity bill that came up the other day. If you'd like to look at voting records, for this bill or for anyone, please go to Govtrack.us

Here's part of that "awesome" quote Alex spoke of...

"The outlook for the economy has worsened in recent months, and the downside risks to growth have increased," Bernanke said. "To date, the largest economic effects of the financial turmoil appear to have been on the housing market, which, as you know, has deteriorated significantly over the past two years or so."

Oh yeah, and for America's sake, go to the
